A trauma is any experience where a human feels a completely unexpected lack of safety, threat, harm, or grave danger. During a traumatic event the person has appropriate bodily visceral feelings of intense fear. Many victims do not receive the effective care they need, resulting in the symptoms of trauma remaining trapped in the body.
